LHP Odalis Pérez, who hasn't pitched for the Nationals since June 3, made a rehab start Saturday night for Class A Potomac, an encouraging performance that has cleared the way for Pérez to start Friday night for Washington. In four innings for Potomac, Pérez allowed three hits and one run, striking out five. He threw between 50 and 60 pitches, Manager Manny Acta said. "And after that, no pain," said Pérez, who is recovering from shoulder tendinitis. Pérez plans to throw in the bullpen on Wednesday; Friday, he will likely be held to an 80-pitch limit.
