BOUNDARIES: Borders are imprecise because St. Louis is an unincorporated village and is considered part of Middleburg. Approximate boundaries are from just inside the intersection of Welbourne Road with St. Louis Road (Route 611) on the south, north for about a mile; about a half-mile east on Snake Hill Road; and along Newlin Mill Road to the west.

SCHOOLS: Banneker Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle School in Purcellville, Harmony Intermediate in Hamilton, Loudoun Valley High in Purcellville.

HOME SALES: In 2007, 32 homes sold in the 20117 Zip code, but none, other than the Habitat for Humanity homes, was in St. Louis. The four properties closest to St. Louis that sold in 2007 all had more than 10 acres. They ranged in price from $970,000 to $1.6 million.

WALKING DISTANCE: Banneker Elementary, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, pleasant country roads.

10 to 15 MINUTES BY CAR: The shops in Middleburg; the country villages of Upperville, Unison, Paris and Philomont.
