Allen, one of the top national recruits in the class of 2013, visited Tuscaloosa over the weekend and needed very little time to make his decision upon returning home on Sunday. Allen, who has been bombarded by offers from some of the country’s top programs, including Florida, Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech, said he was relieved to make a verbal commitment.

By the end of the one-day visit, the Paul VI Catholic junior swingman knew where he wanted to go to college.

Fong took an unofficial visit to Annapolis on Thursday, got offered while there and pondered the decision over the weekend, Gar-Field Coach Andy Gray said.

Chalk up a big one for George Washington Coach Mike Lonergan and his staff.

The Colonials landed Montrose Christian center Kevin Larsen on Monday, adding to a significant recruiting haul that also includes All-Met guards Kethan Savage of Episcopal and Joe McDonald of Landon.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr (the list goes on) are all outlets that provide fans, coaches, teammates, and alumni a glimpse into who you are and what you’re about. With this power however, comes great responsibility — particularly for student-athletes. 

The 5-foot-10 guard – who often plays bigger than his size with slashing moves to the basket, tough rebounding and a strong shooting tough – committed to the Pittsburgh school Friday morning, a day after taking his first visit there.

The 5-foot-8 Allen this season averaged 13.5 points and five assists and shot 78 percent from the foul line as one of the most dynamic players in the Washington area. She helped lead the Cadets to a 26-8 record and runner-up finish in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.

Bartow visited Princeton and Delaware’s spring games, and this weekend was down at Georgia Tech for the spring game in Atlanta. That visit, he said, provided a different feel than most of the others he had taken.
