Stocks ended the day up 3 percent to $32, where the price had hovered for much of Wednesday. The company had priced its initial public offering at $38 a share, and the price had been falling ever since.

Reuters reported Tuesday that the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth has issued a subpoena to Morgan Stanley, the lead underwriter for the social network’s market debut. The subpoena comes after it was reported that analysts working for Morgan Stanley — as well as analysts at JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs — had all cut their revenue estimates for Facebook after seeing the company’s revised S-1 filing on May 9. In that document, Facebook expressed concern about its ability to respond to consumers’ shift to mobile devices.

But, according to a recent survey by the gaming Web site IGN, it seems that motion controlled games aren’t of that much interest to the more serious gamer. When asked to identify the most important trait for a next-generation console, respondents said that they were just not that interested in having an innovative controller.

To celebrate its 7th birthday, Google’s video-sharing site released all-new metrics about itself, including its new upload numbers as well as the fact that subscriptions increased 50 percent in the past year. Another cool fact? The site logs 3 billion hours of viewing time per month.

But the company is wasting no time in trying to turn around its fortunes, announcing Sunday that it had finally closed a long-rumored deal for its stake in the Chinese Web company Alibaba. In a letter to Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, antitrust officials said that it appears that the firm displays links for its own services in a way that disadvantages the competition.
