The Frederick News-Post reported Tuesday that 50-year-old James Ways of Westminster was served Monday with a criminal summons charging him with three counts of fourth-degree sex offense.

They said Pernell Lonnie Dawkins, 43, of Southeast Washington was shot in the 300 block of Ridge Road SE on July 17. The shooting left him paralyzed and he was taken to a rehabilitation cetner in Maryland, where he died March 14.

A 3-year-old boy was killed Tuesday in Charles County when he climbed out of his mother’s car and was hit by an oncoming vehicle, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 2 p.m. in a quiet residential neighborhood in the Waldorf area, the sheriff’s office said.

Rivelino Villegas-Posada, 34, of no fixed address, and Jubencio Castro, 24, of no fixed address, were charged with rape and aggravated malicious wounding, police said.

Brian McNamee said his relationship with the baseball star led to marital problems, and that his wife pressed him to do something to protect himself because he had a “history of taking hits for people and always getting in trouble.”

Kuron Hunt was delivered after his pregnant mother was stabbed in the stomach at her home in the 4200 block of 9th Street SE on March 22. While his mother survived, the baby died due to injuries sustained in the attack.

The shooting happened about 10:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of 6th Street SE, while officers were looking for a suspect in an earlier shooting that happened nearby.

The scheduling conference for Jose Mejia-Varela is scheduled for Tuesday morning in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Media outlets report that 30-year-old Michael Wayne Tutwiler of Mechanicsville will serve six months in prison. James Tucker Creamer of Amherst County will spend one year on probation and pay a $500 fine.

It was originally to take place Tuesday morning.

Michael Joseph Poth, 20, is charged in the late April death of Philip M. Bushong, 23.

Prosecutors said Carole Nelson, who had pleaded guilty to a single count of money laundering in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, was among the co-conspirators connected to a fraud run through her employer, Metro Dream Homes.

They said the incident occurred at Benning Road and Oklahoma Avenue NE about 3:30 p.m. The woman was conscious and breathing as paramedics took her to a hospital, police said.

In each case, police said, the men wore masks and flashed semi-automatic handguns. They seemed to park a newer model gray Dodge Charger near the side or rear of the businesses they robbed, police said.
